Do you dream of having your own business? Do you wish to say adieu to your boss?
A
lot of people would love to have their own business given the
opportunity. But a lot of these people instead of putting up their own
business, they search for employment. Now, don't get me wrong. There is
nothing wrong with being employed. It's just that, I believe that being
employed should only be temporary.
What I am about to
say may shock you, or anger you, but I know this is the truth for most
of us. A lot of us work for twenty years, or some even more. They work
until retirement. And after retirement they can their retirement pay and
then figure out what business they would like to invest in. Mmmm.. Not a
good idea I guess. Because business is not all about money. Even if you
have the capital to start your business but if you don't have the
proper mindset your business will fail.
So for me, I
think that being in the employment for just a few years is enough
experience. Use this experience for you to relate to your future
employees. Remember that you were also once an employee so treat them
kindly. Give them what's due to them. Also use your employment
experience in leading your team. You were once a team member so now you
should know how a team member thinks. And now that you are the team
leader, you can emulate or opt no to emulate the examples your previous
boss has shown you.
